The Story of Aavya – A Business Without A Vision

Let’s start with the start. The story of Aavya begins in Tapovan, where I had already been living for over two years, staying in another room not too far from here. But it seemed I had outstayed my welcome there. I needed a change—a new space, a new place to stay, something a bit away from the hustle, a little quieter.

I had no grand plans—just wanted a new home. In fact, the first vision I had for this place was… well, a bit of a party pad. A hilltop spot where my friends would hang out, play music, cook, chill, host a few gatherings with a view. And a Jacuzzi (that’s still not here).

And then I walked into these rooms of what is now called Aavya.

The air felt different. The view stretched out in every direction. It felt like there was space… And something in me just said: yes.

What began as a plan for a personal hangout slowly took on a life of its own. And somehow, without really planning it, Aavya began.

When we talk about Aavya, people often ask, “So what’s your plan with Aavya?” And honestly, we don’t have one in the traditional sense.

There was no vision document, no mission statement. No branding workshop. No business model first—heck, no 3-year or 7-year projections. Aavya didn’t begin as a business—it began with a feeling.

What started as a quest for a personal home on a hill began to attract people, ideas, and energy. It turned into a space where something deeper was always happening—often unintentionally. Conversations led to collaborations. A corner of the building became our recording studio. A kitchen became a cooking studio. A terrace turned into a jungle yoga studio. All slowly, all organically.

And so, we’ve stopped trying to define what Aavya is. Because the moment we try to put it into a box, it reshapes itself again. That’s the beauty of it. This is the story of Aavya—not a brand, but a becoming.

But one thing has always been clear: we are not a brand built on strategy—we are a space shaped by life.

We don’t aspire to be a retreat empire or a wellness franchise. We simply want to stay real, intimate, and full of heart. We want to live well, hold space honestly, and surround ourselves with people who are trying to do the same.

And that means:

No flashy marketing, just real storytelling.

No over-designed experiences, just real human offerings.

No scaling for the sake of it, just creating with care.

What we do promise is that we’ll remain a non-corporate, individual space for rest, music, dance, art, reflection, movement, food and yoga….

Where the inspiration takes us next? We’re curious too.

It could be deeper learnings. Teachers from the Amazon forest. It could be Kathak performances. It could be collaborative efforts in art, music, and more. Or a healing center where the care is deeper and more intimate.

We don’t know yet. But we’re learning and exploring.

We’ll stay honest, rooted, and open.

We’ll grow—but only in the directions that feel right.

Because Aavya is not something we built. It’s something we’re living.

If the story of Aavya resonates with you, welcome home.
