I'm Asking You to Be Undisciplined

A different take on discipline, structure, and freedom.

I'm going to say something that might sound a little strange.

Especially in a place like Rishikesh.

I think we are a little too obsessed with discipline.

    Wake up at 5.

    Do your yoga.

    Eat clean.

    Meditate twice a day.

    Journal.

    Sleep early.

    And if you don't?

Somewhere inside, a quiet voice says:

    "You're not doing this right."

    The Pressure to Be Perfect

I've seen it again and again.

People arrive here looking for peace.

    And very quickly…

they replace one pressure with another.

    From:

    • •deadlines
    • •targets
    • •meetings

    To:

    • •routines
    • •practices
    • •spiritual expectations

    Same structure.

    Different language.

    Where Did the Joy Go?

Somewhere in this chase for the "right way" to live…

    We forget something simple:

Joy doesn't come from perfect discipline.

    It comes from aliveness.

    From listening.

    From responding.

    From being real.

    My Own Contradiction

I run a space where we offer yoga, meditation, sound healing.

    And yet…

Some days, I don't follow any structure at all.

Some days I wake up late.

    Skip practice.

    Drink too much chai.

    Get lost in conversations.

Or just sit and do nothing.

    And strangely…

Those are often the days I feel the most connected.

    Discipline vs Awareness

I'm not saying discipline is bad.

    It helps.

    It grounds you.

    It gives rhythm.

    But when discipline becomes rigid…

    It stops being supportive.

    And starts becoming another cage.

What If You Could Trust Yourself?

What if instead of forcing a routine…

    You listened to yourself?

    Some days you need stillness.

    Some days you need movement.

    Some days you need people.

Some days you need to be alone.

    And some days…

You just need to do nothing — without guilt.

    Being Undisciplined… With Awareness

I'm not asking you to become careless.

I'm asking you to become aware.

    There's a difference.

    Undisciplined doesn't mean chaotic.

    It means:

    • •not forcing
    • •not pretending
    • •not following something just because you "should"

    Aavya Was Built This Way

Even Aavya wasn't built with strict discipline.

    There was no rigid blueprint.

    No fixed formula.

    It grew:

    • •organically
    • •intuitively
    • •sometimes messily

And maybe that's why it feels alive.

    The Freedom We Forget

    We come searching for freedom.

But we carry structure with us.

    And sometimes…

the real freedom is much simpler:

To not have it all figured out.

    So yes —

I'm asking you to be a little undisciplined.

    To loosen your grip.

    To trust your rhythm.

To allow life to move through you — not be controlled by you.

    Because maybe…

    just maybe…

that's where the real practice begins.
